Validations based on Customer Purchase History

This article aims to explain Validations based on Customer Purchase History in Demander.

The resource helps the seller to check the quantity and price of items in relation to the customer’s historical purchasing pattern, and also alerts when the product does not have a recent purchasing history.

Below you will find information about:

The module allows you to configure three types of validation in Additional settings of the company:

  • Tolerance for quantity alert outside the customer’s historical purchasing average Defines the acceptable percentage variation of quantity in relation to the customer’s historical average. Must be greater than 0 to enable quantity alert.
  • Tolerance percentage for price alert outside the customer’s historical purchasing average Defines the acceptable percentage price variation in relation to the customer’s historical average. Must be greater than 0 to enable price alert.
  • Alert when adding products outside the customer’s purchase history to the order Defines whether the system should alert when the customer does not have a recent purchase history for that product.

All calculations are based on the average of the customer’s last purchases available for each product (up to the last 8 purchases).

Rules are evaluated item by item. In the order listing, inconsistent items are visually highlighted. When completing the order, the system presents a consolidated alert with items outside the rules.

  • Product out of history / no recent history When the customer already has previous orders and the product has no recent purchase history, the item is marked as inconsistent.
  • Quantity out of average The system calculates the average quantity of the customer’s last purchases for the product, applies the configured percentage tolerance and marks the item when the quantity entered is below the minimum or above the maximum acceptable.
  • Price out of average The system calculates the average price of the customer’s last purchases for the product, applies the configured percentage tolerance and marks the item when the price entered is below the minimum or above the maximum acceptable.

Important notes:

  • Validations are not applied to the customer’s first order.
  • Items with zero quantity do not enter validation.
  • Quantity or price tolerance is only considered when the respective configured percentage is greater than 0.

During order assembly:

  • Inconsistent items display a visual alert in the product line itself (for example: “Usually buys from X to Y UN”, “Usually pays from R$A to R$B” or “No recent purchase history”).
  • When quantity and price are out of range at the same time, the system can unify the message on a single chip.
  • In-line alerts are dynamically updated when changing quantity or price.

When finishing/saving the order:

  • If there are inconsistent items and the settings are active, the system displays a modal titled Products in Attention.
  • The modal lists the products grouped by rule (quantity outside the average, price outside the average and products outside the history), with details of each inconsistency.
  • User can voltar to review items or choose Save Anyway to complete the order.
  • Scenario 1 — Quantity outside the average: the customer usually buys between 8 and 12 units of the product. In the current order, the seller informs 20 units. The item displays the attention chip and, when finished, appears in the modal under “Quantity outside the average”.
  • Scenario 2 — Price outside the average: the customer usually pays between R$10.00 and R$12.00. When ordering, the price stated is R$8.00. The item is highlighted and enters the modal when saving.- Scenario 3 — Product with no recent history: the customer has purchased before, but there is no recent history of that product. The chip indicates “No recent purchase history” and the item appears in the modal under “Products not in history”.
  • Scenario 4 — Customer’s first order: none of the history validations are applied.

When does the alert appear? Inconsistent items are highlighted in the listing during order assembly. When finished, the system displays the Products under Attention modal with a summary of the inconsistencies.

How to identify an inconsistent item in the listing? The item displays a chip/visual alert with history guidance (quantity, price, or no history).

Is the order blocked if there is an inconsistency? No. The modal allows you to review and, if desired, continue with Save anyway.
